Classic Shirtings 00128 EK Black
From Washington Street Studioa division of P&B Textiles.
With the introduction of the Transcontinental Railroad and the elimination of import taxes in the late 1800s,
luxurious silks became more affordable, which meant that cotton calicos were relegated to everyday and utility wear.
Manufacturers began to use synthetic dyes, a much easier process than the complex madder dyes.
Because of their timeless motifs, these shirtings reproductions are at home on both traditional and contemporary quilt projects.
